Melbourne Garden Show 2013

I had a wonderful day at the Melbourne Garden Show - the weather was great and the displays were as good as ever.  I bought some new bulbs, a couple of plants for the side garden and a few more garden ornaments.  I have attached some photos for you!

I am still working on the blog set up and am hoping to get a lot more work in over Easter.  Have a great week.  Sarah

Good rain this week

We have had some great rain this week after two weeks of unseasonal heat. The garden is looking rather sparse and I am hoping to get some good ideas for quick fixes at the garden show next week. I still have a glut of zucchini and tomato and the eggplants look like they are all going to be ready within the next two weeks.

I haven't done anything to update the blog pages this week but hopefully I will get some time next weekend.

Have a great week. Sarah

More changes and another dry week

We are still having very hot and dry weather for the start of an Melbourne Autumn.  It is so dry that even the weeds are doing badly.  However the eggplant have picked up, raspberries are in their element, tomatoes are charging towards their end of season burst, and zucchinis are still in over drive.  The figs are nuts too, but their ability to attract bats and birds in equal measure means that there isn't a lot of wastage.

I am still working on the blog pages.  Hopefully it will be a far more informative blog than its previous incarnations.  Two weeks until the garden show so I am rather exciting about that.

More soon

A fresh look

You will notice that I am in the process of re-arranging the blog.  I am still planning to do a garden walk through (when I get enough garden back to make it worth while - Summer has been hard on my garden and I am going to be starting again on some projects). It will take a few weeks to get it looking nice so your patience in appreciated.  The photos are of a Snail Plant which I bought from Diggers Club on a whim last year.  It is just beautiful and I will be sure to pick up another if I see it.  More soon.  It is the Melbourne Garden Show on the 23rd so I will be sure to include some photos on the blog.  Happy gardening.  Sarah
