Last Day of May

Well it is sunny today and I am going into the garden to prune, water, fertilise and paint (the fence not the plants of course).  I am hoping for a nice update photo for the page - not much to show as everything for winter is still at the seedling stage, but it will be nice just to have a sunny photo on the board for a change.  Yes I am aware that it is mid-week.  I have a couple of days off and I hope to get plenty of garden time.

Catch up soon

May 2 - 2011

Another weekend of rain!  If you read this blog every week you must think that it never stops raining here. After years of drought we appear to be getting years of rain.  It is good for the garden of course - although I worry about the bulbs getting too wet and rotting.  It is quite cold with it so it shouldn't happen.  (5-17 C average this time of year - that is 41-62 F).  When it stops raining I will go out and check on the seedlings. I can see that the cabbages are coming on, but I need to check on the spinach and salad greens.

Hopefully it will be drier next week so that I can do some more painting, landscaping and general weeding.

Have a great week.

May 1 - 2011

A quiet week all round.  work is very busy at the moment and it has been raining all weekend so it doesn't look like I will get much done garden wise until next weekend (unless it is raining heavily again).

I am going to order some more berry canes and am considering getting a blueberry bush.

So aside from the odd bit of weeding when the rain stops that is it for the week

cheers

April 2011 - 5

There should be a couple of new photos in the slide show today.  I ended the month by doing some more painting (fence and garden edges) and I have planted the last of my Spring bulbs and garlic.  It looks like we are going to get a week of rain from tomorrow so hopefully that will help the new seedling on their way.

More in May
