Sunburn

Well Spring has certainly sprung here in Melbourne.  I spent an hour and a half in the yard yesterday sorting out materials to start working on my paving and I managed to get horribly sunburnt - it wasn't even the middle of the day.  Hats from now on!

The carpenter is in the process of installing the new deck so there will be photos of it really soon.

More Photos

There should be some new photos in the slide show - The Spring bulbs are coming up and looking just lovely.  I have about 6 weeks left on the winter veg and the Spring/Summer seeds are germinating in the laundry as I write.  I am hoping to really get a lot of the remaining landscapring work done on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of October.  Fingers crossed

Weekend surprise

This weekend we had some guests over for Sunday lunch.  I was pleasantly surprised by their reaction to the garden.  Instead of seeing the half complete jobs, mix of wildly successful and week plants, mud from the rain and the general mess, they marveled at the wonderful vegetables and were able to see the whole garden concept.  It made my smile to see how much joy they got out of it!

I am really enjoying the fresh veg.

Still more rain

There has been great rain here - some flooding up north though.  The garden is looking lovely, the Spring flowers are looking wonderful and the veg is looking great.  Still have loads of landscaping work but there is plenty of time.

Great Broccoli

Well last night we tried the first lot of broccoli from the garden.  Amazing - It tasted marvelous and the colour held even though I over cooked it a little.  No more lime broccoli from the supermarket.

Rain and more rain

We have had huge amounts of rain so far this weekend.  The weather bureau is predicting that we will get the whole average September rain in the weekend.  Great for the plants and great for the dams!
Can't get out to do any gardening though :)
